The mission of the Andre Gist Memorial Foundation is to provide financial assistance to college-bound students. We seek to help students from households who face challenges due to financial means and other support necessary to attend and remain in college. We support students who recognize that higher education affords them the greatest chance to succeed in life.

The selection process for attaining the Gist Scholarship is based on the qualifications listed below. Please review the list carefully.

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Minority with proof of acceptance to a 4 year HBCU (Historically Black College and University).
  • Submission of a resume, which summarizes academic achievements, community services /civic involvement, college and /or career goals, extra curricular activities, etc.
  • Student must graduate from High School with at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Applicant will be required to provide household income data.
  • Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA throughout their college career.
